Right now, Minecraft only has dogs and cats as true house pets. It’s time to expand our families and introduce a third companion with a totally unique utility for survival players. Meet the Ferret!
The Concept: Taming and Behavior
Ferrets are small, highly agile, and adorable long-bodied mammals found hiding inside Fox berries or hollow logs in Taiga and Birch forests. You can tame them using Sweet Berries or Glow Berries.
The Pocket Thief: Once tamed, a Ferret can be commanded to sit or follow. If you walk past a dropped item or an open chest, the Ferret will grab small items (like seeds, iron nuggets, or coal) in its mouth and run back to drop them directly into your inventory.
The Pest Control: Ferrets hate Silverfish and Endermites. If your mining base is infested with Silverfish, your pet Ferret will actively hunt them down, clearing the area without triggering block-breaking loops.
The Cozy Scarf: Right-clicking your tamed Ferret while sneaking allows it to climb onto your neck like a warm scarf. While wearing a Ferret, you gain a passive 10% resistance to freezing in powder snow.
Let’s give players a new loyal friend to animate our bases and add pure warmth to the long survival nights.
