Right now, finding the Stronghold is not a gameplay challenge; it’s a math problem. Speedrunners throw two Eyes of Ender, open the F3 screen, use external coordinate calculators, and run directly to the portal room. It completely kills the magic of exploration and makes speedrunning look like a boring spreadsheet.
The Concept: The Unstable Stronghold Coordinates
Strongholds shouldn't be static blocks pinned down by a seed calculator. Reality around the ancient portal rooms should be warped by the End’s leaked magic.
Warped Eyes of Ender: Eyes of Ender no longer point to the exact entrance of the Stronghold. Instead, they point to a general 100x100 block zone where the magical distortion is strongest. You actually have to dig and look around, not just mine straight down.
The Labyrinth Shift: The internal layout of the Stronghold should be decoupled from the world seed. Every time a player opens the door to a Stronghold, the rooms inside are generated completely randomly, preventing runners from predicting the portal room through wall-glitches.
The Ender Sentinel: The portal room shouldn't be guarded by just a silverfish spawner. A new mini-boss, the Ender Sentinel, must be defeated to unlock the portal frames, making the final entry a true combat challenge.
Stop letting calculators beat the game for you. Let’s make finding the End portal a true adventure filled with mystery and danger.
