Dear Minecraft Team,
I propose implementing a "Player Reputation System" for both Java and Bedrock Editions to improve community health and multiplayer experiences.
1. Background
Managing player behavior in multiplayer environments is challenging. A quantified reputation system would incentivize positive interactions and deter griefing, harassment, and cheating more effectively than current tools.
2. Core Mechanism
Dynamic Scoring: Players start with a baseline score. Points are added for positive actions (e.g., helping newbies, valid reports) and deducted for verified violations (e.g., griefing, toxic chat).
Privileges & Restrictions: High reputation earns visual identifiers or Realm queue priority. Low reputation triggers chat cooldowns or blocks access to certain servers.
Technical Feasibility: The existing Scoreboard system can track this hidden metric seamlessly.
3. Expected Impact
This system would reduce administrative burdens and foster a friendly, self-regulating ecosystem by rewarding respect and penalizing toxicity.
Thank you for your dedication!
Best regards,
A Minecraft Enthusiast
