Currently, the warden feels to easy, at least when in the ancient city (I haven't tested any encounters in other areas of deep dark, I imagine they might make up for some of it with the fact a shrieker there is not expected). I won't talk about cheesing it, because it's been discussed and I'm sure it will be addressed. Something I think would make the warden more dangerous, however, is the addition of wardens that don't spawn from a shrieker but wander the ancient city on their own. Obviously, they will have no idea of the player's presence, but their presence will force the player to adapt on the fly even if they have been extremely careful and avoiding chests where sculk placement makes it impossible to loot the chest without making noise or triggering the sculk. The warden would likely be an even more effective threat and more interesting scenarios will arise if the player had no way to absolutely ensure it doesn't appear. Still, this should be rare, with maybe one wandering warden allowed at a time in a city, so that a player who does open all chests will encounter most wardens through shriekers.
