I've been having this idea for a long while of being able to change the color of the enchantment glint on any item you'd want. By default, it would be the usual purple, but by combining a dye with the item of your choice in an anvil, it would change it to that color. On top of that, with commands you could set a custom color glint with a Hex code on the item you're giving yourself.
I feel like this would be incredibly useful for mapmakers, people making their gear and armor more distinct (imagine a green enchantment glint set of Netherite armor with an emerald trim! Or a red enchantment glint sword with flame on it!), and those looking to just add a bit more personalization to their items, vanilla, custom, whatever the case may be.
For my case as an example, I've been toying around making "custom items" with commands via different names, enchantments, item model swaps, etc., and being able to change the color of the enchantment glint would open up endless possibilities for customization!
I don't have a very deep understanding of how stuff like this works, but my thought is that the current enchantment glint texture could be greyscale, and then have the corresponding color applied to it, like how potion bottles can have custom colors with commands.
Anyways, thanks for reading, and I hope whoever sees this likes my idea!
