As it stands, when playing Minecraft Java Edition on Wayland (at least in my experience on GNOME) there are significant issues mostly relating to the mouse cursor. These issues are completely fixable, either through patching the use of GLFW (see BoyOrigin/glfw-wayland on GitHub prior to Minecraft 26.1) or by completely switching to SDL Input, which MacOS and Windows both support as well. Currently, I would consider the game unplayable on native Wayland despite the game supposedly having official support for it
