The Problem:
Currently, the off-hand in Bedrock Edition is very limited compared to Java Edition. The main challenge for mobile players is the lack of a "Right-Click" equivalent without cluttering the screen with buttons.
The Solution:
I suggest implementing a "Mode Toggle" system through the existing off-hand slot on the HUD:
Direct Interaction: The off-hand slot on the screen should act as a functional button.
Mode Switching: Tapping the offhand slot would "lock" the main interaction (Crosshair/Touch) to the item held in the left hand. This allows players to build, use items, or place blocks using the left hand as if it were the right hand.
Swap Shortcut: Double-tapping the slot could swap the item between the main hand and the offhand instantly.
Settings:
Crouch-to-Shield: Add a toggle in the settings to allow the shield to activate while crouching (similar to the current mechanic) for who prefare to use the current blocking system.
offhand mode : instead of toggle place block/interact in Jave edition i think it is better to give the same functions of this toggle but only for offhand.
Why this works:
Clean UI: It add the messing icon from Jave edition but as a button.
Parity: It finally brings Bedrock closer to Java's gameplay depth.
Accessibility: It solves the "touch screen struggle" for PvP and fast building.
