Minecraft is still very popular, but multiplayer servers feel less active and harder to access than they used to.
Main issues:
- No built-in server browser (players rely on third-party sites)
- Friction when joining servers (IPs, versions, mods)
- No meaningful incentives for server owners
- Community servers are less visible overall
Suggestions:
- Add an official server browser (categories, player counts, trending)
- Introduce creator incentives (revenue share or engagement-based rewards)
- Improve multiplayer onboarding (simplify joining servers)
- Feature top servers and events in-game
- Expand tools/APIs for custom server development
Why it matters:
Servers used to drive long-term engagement. Improving discovery and incentives could strengthen the multiplayer ecosystem again, similar to platforms like Roblox and Fortnite.
