Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Android is currently capped at 60 FPS, even though many modern devices now ship with high‑refresh displays (120 Hz and 144 Hz). Examples include:
-
POCO, Xiaomi, and Redmi tablets/phones (120 Hz and 144 Hz panels)
-
ASUS ROG and Nubia Red Magic gaming phones (144–165 Hz panels)
-
iQOO, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus, Oppo, and Motorola models with 120 Hz displays
-
Samsung Galaxy devices with 120 Hz panels
Players on these devices cannot take full advantage of their hardware, while other platforms (like Xbox Series X|S) already support 120 FPS in Minecraft. Unlocking the FPS cap (or adding a toggle in settings) would:
-
Deliver smoother gameplay and lower input latency.
-
Align Android with other platforms that already support high refresh rates.
-
Better utilize modern hardware capabilities that are now standard in mid‑range and flagship devices.
We request Mojang to add official support for 120 Hz and 144 Hz refresh rates on Android in a future update.
