Rather than waiting through the full timer, a geyser should immediately shoot up from a potent sulfur block when the conditions for a geyser forming are met (i.e. when a magma block is placed beneath submerged potent sulfur, when a potent sulfur block is placed above a submerged magma block, or when water is placed above stacked magma and potent sulfur blocks). This would allow for geysers to be triggered at-will via pistons and dispensers, which would be great for incorporating geysers into minigames, parkour, and animated sequences in builds. After the geyser has fired it would return to its existing behavior of intermittent erupting.
Some examples of how this can be used in game include:
- A pressure plate that when triggered activates a geyser directly in front of it which in turn launches a player up to a higher ledge. Said player can run over the pressure plate and be launched upward seamlessly.
- An animated fountain show where controlled geysers activate in complex sequences, akin to what one might see at a theme park or fancy resort.
- A mob dispenser which launches entities up through trapdoors via geysers (possible in the current snapshot, but would be much more useful if players had precise control of when entities are dispensed).
- High-level parkour tech where a player places potent sulfur on top of submerged magma blocks to immediately launch themselves upward before they hit the water.
