Hello,
I would like to share detailed feedback about the current licensing and pricing model of Minecraft on PC.
Right now, selling Java and Bedrock only as a single mandatory bundle effectively removes choice for players. Those who want to use only one edition are forced to pay for the other one they do not need. This unnecessarily increases the price and negatively affects the user experience.
A more flexible and player‑friendly model is possible:
-
Selling Java and Bedrock separately,
-
Offering a combined bundle with a modest price advantage (around 10%) so it is economic without implying a huge discount,
-
Providing optional packages such as Bedrock + Minecoins or Java + Bedrock + cosmetic packs as additional choices.
Additionally, if a player purchases any single edition (Java or Bedrock) and later upgrades to the bundle to access the other edition, they should not feel like they are paying twice for the same product. This should apply to all editions. The price difference between the standalone edition and the bundle could be balanced with Minecoins, skin packs, or similar digital content, so the player feels their original purchase retains its full value and the upgrade is fair.
This model is a common standard in the gaming industry; it allows players to choose according to their needs, clearly increases satisfaction, and can positively influence demand.
Thank you for considering this feedback.
Kind regards.
