I really like the multiplayer option for Java edition, though it would be nice to have a setting for selected friends or worlds where friends can join without needing a request, in case the world host is away or can't accept at the time.

So, I decided to test something out with my 2 accounts. It turns out that opening your world to online (Friends online can join), also opens your world to LAN. So, my second account is still able to join from the multiplayer screen without being on my friends list. It might be a good idea to add another online option as friends only, (not available to LAN), if that's even possible with the way internet works idk.

I think an "Update" button should be added to the "Friends List" interface, allowing players to manually refresh the list at any time to ensure they can get the latest information. A short cooldown should be set to prevent excessive requests.

Shared Worlds would be so cool

This update is great, but the negative about it is just that the data processing is extraordinarily slow. I had to wait 30 minutes to an hour to add my friend, and now, I can't even invite them when I make a world (probably).

That's all. Also, yes, I am aware this is a snapshot; bugs are to be expected.

This is a very exciting new addition! My main issue is that the creator of the world must remain in the game for their friends to play. At least for myself, I don't usually have the same schedule as my friends, and we like to hop in on our own time to build houses and whatever else. Perhaps an extra setting that allows the user to choose whether to close the world for everyone when they leave or not?

can you make it so you can add cross play friends.

    example java add bedrock user.

or add  like cross platform realms so java player can join bedrock realm.

Не плохо, но кнопки начало меню надо немного поменять место например у краю права или лево. Мне очень нравится эта идея! Из Bedrock Edition стоит того что нужно перенести на Java Edition!

It's not bad, but the start menu buttons need to be slightly replaced, for example, at the edge of the right or left. I really like this idea! It's worth porting from Bedrock Edition to Java Edition!

I'm all for this idea. It's nice to finally be able to play with the friends on my friends list without having to go through Realms or server-hosting or what have you, but please, PLEASE have a system where you can set worlds that are open to multiplayer to be Invite Only. That way if you have friends that you know won't get on with one another, you can keep them separate so chat doesn't get overflown with constant back and forth arguing before it turns to hate. Just a suggestion :3

The new friends feature is absolutely amazing! I really love it! However, I have a couple of small suggestions — the little icon buttons in the Start Menu and the ESC menu feel a bit awkward sitting between those large text buttons. I think it would be just perfect if they could be moved off to the side!

Also, there's one more little detail that I think could be optimized: when someone sends you an invitation, it would be great if a notification could appear in the upper-right corner of the screen, with a checkmark and a cross button so you can quickly accept or decline. And of course, to avoid it becoming a distraction, this notification could be turned off in the settings.

All in all, I'm really looking forward to the day the friends feature officially launches — that day is going to be so cool!

I think that most of us would want to let our friends play while we are gone. So my suggestion would be to implement an setting that can be toggled in the Multiplayer settings that makes the world open 24/7. This would mean that even if the host leaves, the world wouldn't close so the rest of the players would be able to continue playing!

I would like to make it possible to java and bedrock players to play together, and enable cross play.

Me and my friends have tried and tried to use the feature but have now given up. We have set all of our xbox permissions to allow, set allow requests on in the online settings tab and we are all friends already through our xbox accounts. Despite this we are still unable to play together since anytime we send a request through minecraft the "cannot preform friend action" message still appears and tells us to change our privacy settings, which we have. Saw a reddit post in my same situation and they said it just worked after 5 hours of waiting.

Great addition to Java but I have one complaint because you can't see the spawn location or set one for new players.

Also the button is placed quite akwardly and would fit better on the sides of the screen or under the save and quit button.

First of all, I love this! There is something to see be added. So in short .I want a setting where I can assign ranks to players so they either have to request to join, or can just join automatically when I'm online. That way, people can leave and rejoin instantly by just pressing 'join' without needing to ask permission every time.

I think this system shouldn't need a confirmation to join the world if you have left after already being allowed into the world.

I haven’t tested this feature yet, however, I find it awesome for people who have space CPU power to host directly their multiplayer world.

Some people suggest to implement cross-play between Java and Bedrock. While I like the idea, I know it would be a huge work to even make it "work", as Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are two completely separate projects (it’s too much for a single drop).

Keep up with the good work.

I think it would be wise to allow a setting in either the Friends List settings that players can enable to automatically accept any requests to join the server from friends. It is daunting to be in the middle of a trial, or really any important moment, especially in Hardcore Worlds, and have to deal with opening up a menu to respond and accept people. Maybe long term if they could collaborate or look into how the voice chat mod works and also make that an option to toggle off or on, could really see Minecraft reach it peak potential for Multiplayer.

JimyFlash22, please note that there is already a player list feature for servers. Consider checking https://minecraft.wiki/w/Social_interactions.

Btw, it could be cool to be able to add friends from there.
