A party system that links with the new Friends List, similar to what's being actively developed for Bedrock would be great!

What I appreciate the most about Bedrock's party system is that it includes a separate chat for easy communication with friends without needing to rely too heavily on third party apps or voice chat.

The Smaller button being in the middle of the Escape menu look a little awkward, maybe they could be moved to under the Save and Quit button or beside the buttons

I absolutely love the idea ! This is one of the very cool aspects of Bedrock Edition that I like being implemented into Java Edition.

My only complain is the button placement. Java Edition's menu are focused around text, excepted a little batch of them. Seeing a lot of tiny buttons pushed into each other with only icons looks weird.

This is a great idea, but there's 1 major issue I've noticed. Currently, accepting a friend request just sends the user a friend request. The problem here is that if someone with friend requests disabled adds you, you just can't accept it. There should be a different request for adding and accepting to prevent this from happening I think.

It's a great idea, but you should add messages to others, like a chat but not playing, and maybe move the buttons to the side

Would it be possible to add a whitelist when opening to multiplayer? Having a little "Customize Whitelist" button in the "Multiplayer..."

Also, my profile name clips outside the box and some icons look werid... and i would much rather my extra buttons back on the sides in the pause and title screen..

it'd be nicer if the warning also told about the setting location for enabling friend requests, and it's really buggy when trying to recieve requests

(I love the idea of this feature!!! Java really needed this!!!!!)

I suggest adding a confirmation step when sending a friend request. After entering a username and clicking “Send Friend Request”, a small confirmation window should appear showing the player’s skin, username, and two buttons: Confirm and Cancel.

This would help prevent accidentally sending requests to the wrong player.

I absolutely love this new feature and have been waiting for this since it was added to Bedrock Edition all those years ago.

One complaint I have is that when trying to send a friend request to my friend, I got a generic error about "privacy settings".

I think it would be beneficial to point out the existence and location of the "Allow Requests" setting, as more inexperienced players than myself will have a hard time figuring out the issue and finding the setting.

    Cheers!

The “Friends List” is already a wonderful feature, and I'm incredibly excited that it's being added to the Java Edition. In my opinion, the most important thing about this system is that even inexperienced players should be able to use it as easily as possible. That's why I have a few ideas:

    1. Checking for new updates only once per minute while the Friends List is open is not often enough. It is the delays in such a system that cause players to wonder whether a request was successful. Updates should be fetched each time the friend list or a tab in it is opened, with a short cooldown period to prevent excessive requests. Interacting with friends should be something that works instantly.

    2. The best way to check whether you have spelled a name correctly is to look at the player's skin. This is why the player's skin should be displayed next to the 'Enter Profile Name' field while you're typing. In addition, the player skins on the friends list should be displayed correctly at all times. If fetching them each time isn't ideal, they could be cached temporarily.

    3. Inviting someone to your world should be as fast as possible, simple and straightforward via the Friends List, without having to manually open the world for online multiplayer first. Opening the world should happen automatically in the background when you invite a player.

    4. It would be great if the friend list could show whether a player is currently playing on a multiplayer server.

Its okay, but its a little bit weird having the menu change like that, while it is useful, i'd say put it in another spot or don't add it. preferably the second option.

I think it'd be nice to have the buttons moved and if someone is on a different platform with a special complication, like Vibrant Visuals for instance or some other mods, those should be accessible to others. I also think a voice chat feature would be a great addition. In addition, searching for players to friend has become buggy, as i type in my friends' usernames correctly it shows as invalid. If it's an "opening the application and actually accepting the new feature" scenario, i think this should be changed. Also I'd like for Bedrock players to be able to participate in this, not just Java. As always, very excited for this new update and can't wait for May 30!

I like the friends list, though I think the buttons are placed very awkwardly and putting the friends button inside the "multiplayer" tab would be better. Right now it breaks the large-button layout in an uncomfortable way.

It'd be cool to see "Allow friends of friends" as an option, so it could be possible to invite even if you aren't the host of a world

I loved this feature and the fact that you can use Vulkan; it would be great to have voice chat and the ability to play in hosted worlds with friends like in Bedrock.

    Beautiful update it's well done!

Although when I try to add friends, sometimes it will not register despite proper privacy settings, other than that it's great

这真的太棒了,我希望你可以尽快修复一个bug现在在添加好友的时候会显示:“Failed to perform this friend action. It may be due to the account's privacy settings.”我也不知道这是为什么,我已经尝试了很多办法但是它依然无法添加好友,还有我建议把这几个新按钮放在原来的按钮的下面,这样显得太突兀了

hello hello there, the java friends list doesnt work AT ALL for me... me and my friend both have all the privacy settings and online settings set to the right things... and it still gives the message "failed to perform this friend action. this may be due to the profiles privacy settings.". like, no this isnt because of that. i feel like when mojang adds an update every other century, they at least gotta do it right.

i feel that the search bar for the friend list should not only send requests but also narrow current friends you added, like a filter, and the request button gets replaced by a "open profile" button if you added them already, as a quick way to join, invite your friends, or just see if they're online

This is a great idea, I would however love to see a few things being added and changed.

    Added:
A sync save of the world across active computers.
    A chat for your friends.
    A whitelist

    Changes:
The button's being moved toward a different place, as it seems quite awkward in between the current buttons.
Being able to accept friend requests even if the sender has their friend request settings turned off.

This is a great system so far, I really like it.

I do have a suggestion for something that could be added, though. Currently when you send a request to join a friend's world and they accept that request, it sends you to the "establishing connection" screen with no notification or anything. This can make it difficult to know which friend's world you are joining, so I think there should be a toast notification saying something like "(Friend) has accepted your request to join their world."

I feel like many Minecraft players don't use the same user name in game as they do on other platforms.
It would be nice if players could either put aliases on people in their friends list, or add small notes to each friend.

i dont know if this is happening for others but when i send a friend request to anyone or if someone sends one to me it says unable to send due to the accounts privacy settings, it would be nice to know how to fix that. thank you, have a nice day.
