after getting sulfur spikes in snapshot, there is question, why stopping there?
in cold bioms could generate icy caves, including icicles and ice spikes, you could grow ice spikes similarly as dripstone ones, with small change to make more sense, making water drip trough ice block variant which has ice spike on it, it may grow, spike from floor under it would grow also only if ice block (or already placed ice spike) is under it, it could cause lower damage than dripstone when falling on you but causing "freeze" effect similarly as spending some time in powder snow, cauldron under icicle with water source above may generate water inside like dripstone, however in same case using lava would cause icicle to melt, 4 icicles may be crafted into ice block to mirror dripstone, texture should be smoother and blue to look like proper icicles, maybe even translucent
in nether (or some proper volcanic cave biom, if ever added) pointed basalt could generate, would work similarly to pointed dripstone again, however to grow it, either of basalt blocks would have to be placed under lava with pointed basalt under it, water wouldnt make it grow but it could be used to generate water in cauldron and also to generate lava in one, like pointed dripstone, 4 pieces of pointed basalt could be crafted into basalt block (same one as found in geodes), which should also receive polished and brick variants really, texture would be very similar to pointed dripstone, just in shades of basalt blocks
