Dear Minecraft Team,
As an experienced player who deeply appreciates the depth of Minecraft’s mechanics, I would like to suggest a quality-of-life improvement regarding the "Too Expensive!" limit at the anvil.
While this mechanic was originally intended for balancing, I believe removing it would be a significant step forward for Accessibility:
• Supporting Players with Disabilities: For players with cognitive or motor impairments, the complex "pyramid" strategy required to combine books in a specific order can be an overwhelming barrier. Removing the cap would allow these players to enhance their gear at their own pace without being punished for not following a non-intuitive, hidden mathematical formula.
• Consistency with Mending: Since the "Mending" enchantment already allows for permanent gear, the anvil limit no longer serves its original purpose of item rotation. It now only creates a frustrating barrier during the initial creation process.
• Rewarding Progression: Players who have invested time into large-scale XP farms should be allowed to spend their levels freely. A system where costs continue to rise without a hard "cap" would maintain balance while respecting the player's time.
Minecraft is a game about breaking barriers and fostering creativity. Removing this limit would make the endgame much more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
Best regards,
Jan
