I suggest adding a plant-based system that allows players to transport and sort items into chests in a natural and intuitive way.
This plant acts as an item transport network. It is placed on the ground as a base, and players can manually extend it by placing vine-like segments to create paths in any direction.
The plant transfers items between connected containers, similar to hoppers, but at a slower speed to keep it balanced.
Players can attach a filter node next to a chest. Each node has a simple interface with one slot to select an item, and only matching items will enter that container.
To improve clarity, the filter node visually changes depending on the selected item (for example, showing a diamond texture when filtering diamonds).
How it works:
- Place the plant as a base
- Extend it manually to form paths
- Connect it to chests
- Add filter nodes and set items
The plant has a limited range and only works when connected to its base.
It can be found in caves or lush areas, collected with shears, and expanded using bone meal.
For immersion, the plant could glow or emit particles when transporting items.
This feature offers a simple and visual alternative to complex redstone systems while encouraging creative, organic builds.
