Minecraft should add a new mysterious ore called Metal Ore, designed to encourage deep exploration and late-game discovery.
Unlike iron, gold, or copper, Metal Ore would be extremely rare and found only in the deepest parts of the overworld, in areas that most players rarely explore.
Rarity & Generation:
Extremely rare (rarer than diamond and even ancient debris in the overworld)
Spawns only between Y level -60 to -70
Most common at Y level -67, making it difficult to find
Generates in very small veins (1–2 blocks only)
Spawns near large deep cave systems
Because these coordinates are so deep and dangerous, most players would never naturally encounter it, making the discovery feel truly special.
Features of Metal Ore:
Slight metallic shine in darkness
Unique breaking sound
Takes longer to mine than diamond ore
Requires diamond or netherite pickaxe
Metal Ingots (After Smelting):
High durability tools
Slightly faster mining speed
Subtle glow when hostile mobs are nearby
Unique metallic sound when attacking
Why This Would Improve Minecraft:
Encourages deep cave exploration
Adds a new late-game progression
Brings back the excitement of discovering something rare
Rewards players who explore dangerous underground areas
Optional Idea: Each world could generate a slightly different version of Metal, making every player's discovery unique and rare.
