Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

A "clutterless" way to add what people want

You could use item components to add vertical slabs.

Slabs would hold a "direction" component (defaulted to "horizontal") which would tell how the block would be placed. Slabs doesn't have the normal use action, only use-on-block, so you could rotate the slab in your hand with a right click while not targetting any block.

This way we would get vertical slabs without adding a single item and... everyone wants vertical slabs...

EVERYONE!

(the same pattern could be used for horizontal stairs and fences)

    I thought a tool would work better for this, but to be fair this does make more sense.
