Sulfur Biomes & Alchemy Improvement
π Problem
In Minecraft sulfur biomes exist, but sulfur-related blocks have almost no gameplay purpose and are mostly decorative. Brewing is also too predictable and lacks risk.
---
π‘ Idea
Add new sulfur-based ores and connect sulfur to a new system:
π Unstable Alchemy
---
βοΈ New Ores
Add two ores in sulfur biomes:
- Pyrite (iron-related ore)
- Chalcopyrite (copper-related ore)
Smelting:
- produces iron/copper
- 50% chance to also drop sulfur
π Sulfur becomes a rare, biome-specific resource.
---
π§ͺ Unstable Potions
Adding sulfur to any potion creates an Unstable Potion with a hidden effect revealed only when used.
Outcomes:
- 30% β longer duration (~10 min)
- 30% β stronger effect (Level II)
- 40% β negative effect
Negative effects: nausea, blindness, poison (one only).
---
π₯ Gilded Sulfur
Craft: 1 sulfur + 8 gold β Gilded Sulfur
Effect:
- reduces negative chance: 40% β 25%
- increases positive outcomes
- small chance of double bonus (long + strong effect)
---
π― Result
- gives sulfur biomes real gameplay purpose
- adds risk/reward to brewing
- introduces uncertainty and experimentation
π Players choose: safe potions or powerful risky ones.
