I honestly think the dog isn't nearly as interactive as it should be. Like in real life dogs are used for tracking and hunting especially in the medieval like timeline Minecraft represents. So being able to train dogs to do tricks along with being able to herd livestock in the game and tracking animals that have been labeled with a nametag, as well as being able to carry things in their mouths like foxes. As well as being able to actually throw all items that would be fun to and if you throw something to far or just don't feel like grabbing it yourself you could type it in the chat. Not like commands but just the chat as if recognizing the player's voice in game. Cause (and it's just me that's fine) I've noticed how the wolves when tamed are always different some follow better then others and when the player switches to different skins that are completely different then the player's normal one the wolf doesn't obey as well as it does before. So in addition to that it would be so cool if you could train them to help with hunting, farming, mining and herding. As well as being able to sneak up on prey as a player itself and having it run away when the player doesn't unless they're brought or fed by a player. That would be a good update.
