Better Uses To Paintings And A Possible New Item: The Canvas!

So you know how the paintings in minecraft are like yk just simple and just select a image based on the area available well let me introduce you to a possible new item: Canvas!
a canvas is just like a painting but its and empty painting but u can place it on the wall (same mechanic as painting if 2x2 its a 2x2 canvas if 3x3 its a 3x3 vice versa) but the different thing about it is that u can paint on it and now nobody can paint with just their hands right what u need is a paintbrush which has a similar crafting recipe like the existing item brush but! its made out of strings so it works even finer another item can be a pallete which may be made out of bowls ( giving them another purpose in my opinion as they are not very used currently) and u can add dyes to the palette using the crafting grid and then u can paint using it and to clean the palette using water in a cauldron so u can add different paints to it i believe this may add a new type of creative encouragement in minecraft as the only option to make your own pictures in the game is  map arts which is good but time consuming so painting could be better
another thing is drying of the paints in sunlight to make the painting permanent and u could use honeycomb to preserve the image from fading of its colors. it would be a simple yet fun and exciting feature that could add new horizons to art in the game
