Sup? There are a few things that its seems Minecraft is missing, so I've come to discuss those. Here's some ideas that would make Minecraft even better!
1. Rope: Even late-game, caving is tedious. Elytra is not a help here because it is suited for the skies. Rope could solve that problem, adding purpose to exploration. Rope would act like a block, but with the hitbox of a fence. It would act similarly to scaffolding, where placing a rope block on top of another one would cause it to hang down, instead of building up. Breaking the top rope would break all the bottom ones, similar to scaffolding or kelp.
2. Grappling hooks: Crafted with rope and iron ingot, grappling hooks could help caving, exploration, and even combat. To use one, you would have to hold down the place button, and and release it to throw it into a wall, similar to how you charge a bow. After pressing the place button again, the hook would reel you onto the block it hit. You could also stop mid-swing by double-clicking the place button. You could also grapple enemies– smaller mobs like zombies would be pulled toward you, while larger mobs like iron golems or Ravagers, you would be pulled toward them. Successfully grappling an enemy and using your sword right when you come into contact with them would trigger a stab animation, and do some serious damage–similar to a critical hit.
There's not enough room for more so I'll have a second part soon.
