I’d love to see a new world generation option in Minecraft that sits between Superflat and Default terrain - something like a “Semi-Flat” world type.
Concept:
The Semi-Flat world would generate mostly level terrain, but instead of being completely flat, it would include gentle variation in height - typically around 3–4 blocks. This would create a more natural-looking landscape while still being ideal for building.
Key Features:
- Subtle Terrain Variation: Small rises and dips (3–4 blocks high) to avoid the unnatural look of Superflat worlds.
- Smooth Transitions: No extreme cliffs or hills but just soft, gradual elevation changes.
- Customizable Settings: Players could adjust how “bumpy” the terrain is (e.g., 2-block variation vs. 5-block variation).
Why This Would Be Useful:
- Builders get a more natural environment without having to terraform harshly
- It bridges the gap between unnatural superflat and natural world generation
Overall, a Semi-Flat world type would offer the best of both worlds: the simplicity of flat terrain with the beauty and immersion of natural landscapes.
