Disturbed when sleeping by mobs randomly

Ive been playing beta 1.7.3 and seen that when i sleep and not being boxed in or have a home just sleeping in the open i get woken up randomly and theres a mob next to the bed now this kinda exist in the newer versions but i like the old version of it more now days you can see the mob walk upp to the bed but then you justy randomly woke upp i feel like it was acctually a better way to make the player not sleep openly
