You should be able to craft a regular whip from three leads that you place in the crafting grid vertical. If you instead place a stone, copper ingot, iron ingot, gold inget or diamond in the top slot when crafting you would get whips that deal more damage. Of course you should be able to upgrade the whip to netherite. The whip should have longer reach than a regular sword like the spear. so the spears reach should match the reach of a sword and the whip should have the reach of the spear that the spear has now. If you right click with the whip you will crack the whip that will make a loud sound  that everyone in a 30 block radius will hear. The whip should also have a few enchantments. There should be a enchantment that gives it longer reach and a encantment that makes it deal more damage the further away the target is. Another encantment that I would like is a encantment that makes it so when you crack the whip you knock everything back in a radius. All the encatments should have a few levels like two or three. You could add an encantment that makes it possible to plave and break blocks from further distans with the whip.
