Right now, the Warden is almost useless as a fight its main purpose is to be avoided, and killing it doesn’t give meaningful rewards. I have an idea to make fighting the Warden a nice late game challenge
Core Idea:
- The Warden drops a rare 1-use max-level enchantment book.
- These books can be used to upgrade existing enchantments on armor and weapons (e.g., Protection V, Sharpness VI, Efficiency V).
- Books that don’t make sense remain unaffected (for example, infinity or silk touch)
- Optional: duplicates can be crafted with 4 good books + 5 netherite ingots to make it accessible for late-game players without breaking balance.
- If you combine two unbreaking II books it makes unbreaking III but if you combine two unbreaking III it shouldn't make unbreaking IV
Extra idea to keep the end fiends happy
- Rare Templates to upgrade books could also appear in special new stuctures for players who can’t fight it directly.
- End structures could show experiments performed on the Warden to harness its power, maybe something new or just endermen trying to escape, with rare templates spawning.
- In the Nether, Piglins or a new experimental mob could have tried to harness the Warden’s power to, sometimes failing, leading to ruined bastions.
Benefits:
- Makes the End actually rewarding for hardcore and late-game players.
- Introduces new lore and exploration incentives for both the End and Nether.
- Gives players a high-risk, high-reward goal, enhancing hardcore and late-game progression.
- Keeps the random end lovers happy
