The Problem:
Currently, Villagers feel like "vending machines." They stand in one spot and "summon" items for trade out of thin air. This leads to boring 1x1 trading halls and makes the "Nitwit" (Green Villager) completely useless.
The Proposal: A Collaborative Resource Loop
Instead of instant restocks, Villagers should physically gather or trade for the resources they sell. This creates a "Supply Chain" within the village.
1. The Nitwit’s New Role: The "Village Worker"
The Sawmill/Special Chest: Give the Nitwit a workstation. He becomes the village’s primary gatherer.
Manual Labor: His AI identifies nearby raw resources (logs, stones, etc.). He physically goes to chop trees or mine rocks and stores them in a communal chest.
The Wage: He works based on a "Contract." The player (or other villagers) puts Emeralds in his workstation, and he works until the "payment" matches the labor.
2. Inter-Villager Collaboration
No More Magic Restocks: When a Fletcher or Toolsmith runs out of stock, they should no longer show a "Red X." Instead, they show a "Gathering" status.
Internal Trade: The Fletcher would pathfind to the Worker (Nitwit) or the communal chest to "request" sticks. Once he has the raw materials, he returns to his workstation to "craft" and unlock his trades.
Rare Items: For "extra-dimensional" items (like the Cleric’s Lapis or Blaze Powder), the villager should have a unique interaction with Wandering Traders to "buy" their stock.
