The golden dandelion expanded the possibilities that golden items have. There’s already the whimsical aspect to the game of the golden apple, it can cure a zombie, and now the dandelion can stop a baby from growing. So considering this and that golden tools enchant better than normal ones, why not be able to enchant the comestibles too? And I mean, give them all sorts of different quirks: growing mobs into adults or turning certain mobs passive, playing with the sandbox elements that the game offers (as similarly said in the Chaos Cubed announcement). It’s a thing the potion system underperforms in, so you could maybe brew those items into potions too, with then dulled temporary effects instead. I imagine this could give use to the other golden comestibles too. Different items could have different types of enchantments, maybe a golden rose could have a love effect, if you put it into a throwing potion you get multiple mobs under the love effect, pretty sandboxy huh? Maybe some slime-like comestible can turn a mob into a frog (temporarily with a potion). Imagine wandering in a swamp and spotting a frog with a villager nose, so you have to cure it or something like the zombified villager. I see this bringing many diverse and creative possibilities to the game!
