  This makes a lot of sense, in real life copper oxidation alone only produces a brown-black oxide, but it's reactions with sulfur compounds in the air that cause the green and blue patina. I think it would be perfect if copper exposed to the potent sulfur fumes would increase the rate that it oxidizes
