To keep the player from just pillering up maybe the warden could roar if it can’t get to the player but knows where they are maybe the warden could intentionally spread the skulk from the block it’s standing on to the block underneath the player and then the warden could go underground the come back out underneath the player so it could continue chasing them or maybe if there is a wall in front of the warden the player built the warden could spread the skulk and change those blocks to skulk then the warden could phase through skulk and swim through giving even more of the intention of the warden being everywhere in skulk and the warden needs a two by two block floor for it to fully come out but if it can’t come out it could reach just it’s arm out similar to a evokers fangs but instead of just doing damage it could pull the player under two blocks to suffocate them so it’s like the warden isn’t a thing made of skulk it’s like it is the skulk so warden could fuse with skulk. Imagine this your being chased by the warden and you see a small cave you run in and block up the entrance then you hear a roar and the blocks that you placed to block up the entrance turn to skulk and so does the small area around them, then all the blocks you placed are now skulk then you see the warden easily walk through the skulk blocks or you pillar up you hear a roar the blocks you placed are now skulk then a arm shoots out and grabs you and pulls you into the skulk suffocating you.
