Currently, the loot in the ancient cities is not worth the risk of confronting the warden. But here is a cool new mechanic, which would change this: resurrection!
It sound super complicated, but I promise it's not. There are four new Items required for resurrection: The soul Sabre, the soul Nametag and the Resurrection Altar, as well as the soul itself.
The soul Sabre can very rarely be found in deep dark chests. It is an extremely powerful weapon, that deals up to 12 Attack damage, but it has very slow attack speed. It also can't be enchanted. When you kill a mob with it, the experience points get replaced, and it drops a soul instead. However, because of its low durability, it breaks very fast. its also not repairable. So you can only collect a limited amount of souls.
The Soul nametag is the second item. It can be found in deep dark chests quite commonly, but you require a lot of them. It works just like a normal nametag, but when the named mob dies, it drops its soul nametag.
The soul altar is the final item needed for resurrection. It has two slots where you can place items in. In the first one you place your soul nametag. In the second one you place your souls, which act as fuel, like coal in a furnice. After a few seconds, the mob you wanted to resurrect will spawn on top of the altar.
I don't know about you, but I would use this feature to make sure my pet animals in minecraft will never ever die. So it's definitely worth a visit in the deep dark!
