Currently, there are many mechanisms, mobs, and other elements that generate noise near our bases. A possible solution would be a soundproofing (or insulating) block.
This block could be crafted using materials like wool—for example, combining 4 wool to create a new item such as "insulating wool" or "soundproof wool" (the exact name isn't important). On its own, this block would have the ability to reduce or completely block sound.
Additionally, this system could be expanded with more mechanics:
Using 1 soundproof wool, you could craft full soundproof blocks
These blocks could have different designs (for example, a version with a groove or pattern), adding more variety
Alternatively, the effect could be applied by right-clicking existing blocks, similar to how waxing works
There could also be different crafting variations using materials like:
Wool + straw
Wool + leaves
Wool + moss
Wool + sculk (giving sculk a new function)
This would make the feature more flexible and integrated into the game.
However, one open question is how difficult it would be to actually implement a system like this. Would it be technically feasible to program a block that can reduce or block sound in this way?
