Ancient Cities gain a rare portal activation event. Players charge a dormant sculk structure; once active, it opens briefly, emits a deep sound that attracts Wardens (movement-sensitive), then enters a 4–5 day cooldown. A short silence window allows entry.
Entering collapses the portal (one-way). Inside is a preserved, fully active Ancient City where sculk behaves as a connected system reacting to sound, and Wardens are more responsive to vibrations.
To escape, players restore the central structure by activating sculk-linked components across the city, then rebuild and trigger an exit portal. Players return safely (water/safe height + temporary fall protection).
Rewards include:
- A high-durability block (Reinforced Deepslate-level, very slow to mine)
- Sculk-based redstone expansion (vibration/sound mechanics)
- Limited Ancient-themed decorative blocks
- Sculk Beacon (main reward): detects vibration-based movement, reduces player noise, enhances sculk sensors, slightly disrupts Warden tracking. Balanced by smaller range, no combat buffs, and reduced effect outside sculk areas.
This adds a rare, high-risk, skill-based event that expands existing systems (sculk, Wardens, Ancient Cities) without power creep, encouraging strategy, timing, and mastery.
