Craftable dried (autumn colored) leaves

I have a different approach to fall colored leaves than what I have seen here. I think making them craftable is the easiest and most fitting for a small drop addition. With the introduction of leaf litter into the game I would surround a leaf block with 8 leaf litter to make dried leaf block. Color (brown, orange, yellow, and red) would be dependent on the leaf type used. Mojang likes to keep Minecraft "intuitive" as well, so the leaf types I would suggest are: oak, dark oak, spruce, and birch. The rest of the trees are either evergreen or found in biome that would typically stay the same relative temperature and not experience seasonal change.
