Since the caves and cliffs update I am finding that exploring the wonderful new caves is overshadowed by the miserable experience of fighting off hoards of mobs that don't end. Since these caves can be so large, it is very difficult (and expensive) to stay on top of lighting the dark areas with torches. I think the amount of mobs spawning really needs to be toned down, I am not having fun crafting a new iron sword every 20 minutes (for real) and using stacks of coal for torches every 30 minutes. The update was/is awesome, but I am agitated by the egregious amount of mobs stopping me from mining and exploring. Perhaps limiting the number of possible spawns at one time in a given chunk could help this. I love this game and I have been playing it for 10 years, but I am drifting away from it more and more every time I enter a cave for materials and get obliterated by the hoards of mobs that weren't around before the update. Please please please fix this Mojang.
