Gelatinous Sulfur Cubes

While Slimes may have been based on Gelatinous Cubes from D&D, I think Sulfur Cubes are the better comparison. Sulfur Cubes should be corrosive, and give little to no pushback when mobs run into them. Instead, they should just be able to be walked through, but give damage when done so. They should be able to be fed certain blocks/items/mobs that they will hold inside until they digest them. But if you give them certain blocks as shown in Minecraft Live, they will not be able to digest them and will instead just hold onto them, becoming non-corrosive and acting as a ball.

    They don't even have to be hostile for this to be added. They could just be passive, corrosive mobs.

    If they were made hostile though, they could be made so that they only track down mobs that are smaller than them and can fit inside of them. Once they get large enough, they will pull players inside of them for a couple seconds

    In D&D, Gelatinous Cubes are actually more transparent, making it difficult to see them so you accidentally walk into them. If this was added, it could be made so that the larger a Sulfur Cube is, the more transparent it is. Small and medium Sulfur Cubes would look like they do in Minecraft Live, but if they are as large as a player, they become a lot less visible

    Similar to how Slimes have slime blocks and Magma Cubes have magma, Sulfur Cubes could have, well, gelatinous cubes. These could be what most resembles those from D&D. They would be sem-transparent blocks that you can walk through like powder snow or (cob)webs that inflict damage and/or potion effects on you.

    Maybe if you give Sulfur Cubes a sulfur block or a slime block, they turn into a gelatinous cube block

    Ooh, what if Sulfur Cubes that are eaten by frogs don't drop a froglight, but a gelatinous cube block?

    Sulfur Cubes could also be renamed to something like "Gel" or "Jellies", since we already have a mob with the word "cube" in it. Or Magma Cubes could be changed to something else

    It would be cool to have a slime variant that slides instead of (just) jumping.

    The block form could be different than other blocks that cause harm in how it affects items. Does it destroy them? Preserve them?

    Do you mean the block version of a sulfur cube? Like a Sulfur Slime Cube?
