My main concern with the deep dark is it’s function as a replacement for interaction-less XP farms we have now (zombified piglin farms). In the snapshot right now, the only way to truly have a Skulk Block XP farm that doesn’t require player interaction is to use a withercage. I think the system should see a change that replaces this system with a quieter and more elegant solution that frankly just seems more intended by the developers. Wither cages clearly aren’t intended to be in the game, which makes the requirement of them seem bulky. What this solution looks like is up to you, but my idea is Skulk blocks should simply disappear and drop their XP when placed, or pushed, over soul sand blocks. Since both blocks essentially trap dead mobs in them (soul sand in soul form, only seen in lore, and Skulk blocks in XP form based off their mechanics). I think this is a much more elegant mechanic and will serve as a great and clearly intended replacement for the zombified piglin XP farms, which of course was always an exploit. Players can choose to simply gather the blocks manually and place them over soul sand to save them durability, or opt to build contraptions that automate this process. It’s a solution for everyone. Thank you and love the look of the snapshot so far!
