A crafting platform is a real world version of a crafting table where larger creations can be assembled. You would first craft specific platform blocks, and then lay them out on the floor in a grid of 2 by 2 up to 8 by 8.
When you place blocks on this platform, they join to each other, but not to the platform itself, so they remain moveable as a single entity.
If you hit them with a silk touch tool, they break to form a single item that you can then pick up.
You can then place down that assembly anywhere in the world, as long as there is sufficient flat space.
The creative uses of this would be incredible. You could make flat pack homes, tents, baskets to hang below ghasts, boats, perhaps even wagons. Just think of the possibilities.
It seems like some of the physics behind this would have been introduced to create the sulfur cubes, so a good time to do this
