The sulfur cube should be able to absorb and interact with functional blocks (chests/shulkers/furnace/dispensers/hoppers) and be able to replicate their function. The sulfur cube would interact with dispensers by removing the block inside the cube using shears and dispensing a block would apply it to the cube. A sulfur cube holding a storage block (chest/shulker) should also be capable of being filled or emptied via a hopper. The combination of these features will give the sulfur cube greater survival and redstone functionality outside of mini-games. It also creates moveable tile entities in a creative way. Here’s an example of a survival use:
Player preparing for a large build connects their shulker box loader to a loading tray of empty sulfur cubes. Dispensers fill the sulfur cubes with the filled shulkers. The player can then attach their sulfur cubes to a happy ghast with leads and fly their resources to their build site. They then have a pre-made “chest-monster” at their build site that didn’t require the player’s inventory to transport. When they are done, there is no cleanup, just use the happy ghast to fly the cubes back to a drop off point on top of hoppers in their storage center. The hoppers empty the unused items from the shulkers inside of the cubes. Once empty, water flushes the sulfur cubes past dispensers filled with shears. The shears separate the shulkers from the cubes. The shulkers go back into the system and the sulfur cubes wait for the next project.
