Enchantment/curse for tridents lowering damage.

I think a curse or enchantment allowing you to lower or even nullify the damage of weapons, and in particular tridents, would be very useful for many players.
For example, while using riptide on a trident for travel one could remove any risk of accidentally hitting pets and thus feel much safer with using this mechanic!
Another reason would be for things such as minigames, you could remove the damage while leaving other effects, such as wind burst or knockback, and it could make for some very fun minigames that would normally only be accessible via commands or creative mode!
Besides just this utility, there is something to be said of the lack of curses in vanilla minecraft to begin with, only vanishing and binding leaves something to be desired, and i think this could be something to help fill in that gap!
All in all, I think a curse that weakens weapons would be something that would contribute greatly to the minecraft experience for all sorts of players, from those who just want to farm and collect pets to those who want to build extravagant redstone machines!
