We already have various desert biomes which all have sand, but we still don't have a proper beach biome. Let's change that!
This biome would include
β’ sand (obviously)
β’ palm trees
β’ coconuts, dropped from the palm trees (can be eaten and/or drank)
β’ palm leaves from the palm trees (can be used as an early game building block, particularly a roofing material, when woven. Can also be woven into decorative and functional baskets that can hold minimal items when travelling)
β’ cocowood from the palm trees (can be crafted the same as any other wood block)
β’ shells right on the beach
Mobs that could be introduced in this biome could be...
β’ Seagulls: have the potential to steal dropped food items or food items in your hand
β’ Otters: can often be seen with another otter, holding hands while floating on their backs. Players can give otters different types of fish, and in return the otter can swim underwater and return with a gift (i.e. same items found from fishing)
β’ sea urchin: can be eaten raw, but hurts the player when done so. If cooked, players can eat it without getting any damage. Raw urchins can be fed to otters. Live urchins will hurt players if touched (thorns effect). Can be killed easily with spears.
This biome addition would fill in a much-needed land gap that's been missing from the game. It would offer new food sources, building blocks, and game strategies, without messing up the integrity of the game itself. Plus, who doesn't love a good beach?!
