How to get Skiing into Minecraft…. Turtle shells?!?

Hear me out. I started a new world. My spawn was on a snowy peak. I always like to dress up spawn when working on a world but what could I do here?!? How about a ski lodge with a couple trails and a train stop to take you back to town. That’s pretty good, but how does one ski in Minecraft. How about a turtle shell? I know it makes the player kill a turtle but maybe that can be avoided, like turtles drop a shell when they despawn. You toss it down and jump on it with momentum and it will slide 3 blocks on smooth surfaces and 5 on slippery surfaces. It will pull you if you get within. 2 blocks of a decline. You can ride them down. Not up. Cuts their uses but gives them a use. Could you imagine racing friends on a realm in a sledding race?!? I would love this is my thought. I do love the work you folks are doing, thank you.
