Currently, the Plains biome feels cluttered and difficult to build on due to excessive tall grass and highly irregular terrain. Since the 1.18 update, "flat" areas are often filled with micro-hills and "pothole" cave openings that make large-scale construction frustrating. I suggest adding a "Classic Plains" variant with the following features:
1. Zero Tall Grass: Restores the clean "blank canvas" look of Beta 1.3, allowing builders to see their foundations clearly without clearing all the tall grass first.
2. True Flatness: Terrain generation should favor large, level plateaus with minimal elevation changes (Like in Alpha and early Beta).
3. Fewer Surface Holes: Significantly reduce the frequency of open cave openings that clutter the surface and pose a risk.
Why this helps: This variant would be the "Builder’s Choice" biome. It saves hours of tedious terraforming and lawn-mowing, providing a clean aesthetic that highlights the terrain's shape rather than hiding it under visual noise. It also improves mob visibility at night, preventing creepers from hiding in tall grass. This would be a perfect addition for anyone wanting to build structured villages or historical bases.
