This topic has been talked about for a while and I think it would make bedrock gameplay so much better, but the only problem would be the controls and how it would actually work (specificallyfor consoles cause on mobile there could just be a button that uses/ places that item). My idea for that would be if you want to use the off hand slot item you can have a toggle that if you crouch and hold LT it'll use the item or if you just press and hold LT. For shields there could be a separate setting that would turn off the ability to crouch to activate. For the elytra and firework specifically if you are flying the crouch and use option wouldn't apply when your flying and just holding LT would just use the offhand item. The ability to swap the off hand interaction button would be nice as some people might use a different button to interact and place items. I feel like this would make the use of off hand items come easily and accessible to controller players on bedrock. For PC it would work the same as Java and mobile as Said before would probably just have a button.
