The Darkness effect is really great, except I think that the effect should be constant throughout the biome. I do really like the way the effect sets it when a Sculk Shrieker is activated, so I think that should still remain. However, I want it to be more similar to the initial reveal of the Deep Dark biome, where the effect was present all the time. I think this would really emphasize the "dark" in the Deep Dark. Perhaps the Shrieker will add to the normal Darkness, so if needed the level 1 of the effect—the one that is constant—has a larger range of visibility, while the Shrieker's Darkness will be effect level 2 and could be the current amount that is already in the Experimental Snapshot.
I like the idea of the Deep Dark, but I want the game to really accentuate the scary feeling of it, and have the player tense throughout the biome. It can be very subtle, as it appears that the biome is really dark on Default Brightness.
The best example I can think of is like biome fog in different games, like how in the game, Subnautica, the fog gets closer to the player and turns into a black color when in the Blood Kelp or in the Void biome. Visibility becomes very low, and not being able to see what's in front of you makes you feel uneasy.
I think it would also introduce the factor of should the player place down torches to see and risk summoning the Warden, or remain in the darkness. I think this should also apply to Night Vision potions, too.
Thank you so much for your time!
