I would like to propose an "Empire Update" to make large-scale survival kingdoms easier and more immersive.
-
Project Blueprints Craft a "Blueprint" (e.g., paper + ink sac + empty map). Right-click opens 2D views: front, top, back, side — grid-based layer previews like prospect-style maps. Obtain from cartographer trades, chests, or by scanning structures. Guides building big projects without mods.
These can be modified on the new block: blueprint bench
The blueprints can also be given to Builder Villagers (see point 4) - Vagrant Villagers Rare wandering villagers with no profession. Recruit them with a bed + job site block to grow new settlements or empires.
- Defender Villagers New profession (job site: armor stand/weapon rack). They can equip shields & weapons, patrol village borders, attack hostiles/raiders, level up gear. Gives real village defense. Would make raids much more interesting.
-
Builder Villagers New profession (job site: blueprint bench). At higher levels, place blocks from a supply chest when near a blueprint — slow, balanced help for big builds.
In my opinion:
- Empowers creative survival playstyles for building kingdoms, or empires.
- Makes villagers feel more useful and integral to progression beyond trading.
- Fits vanilla Minecraft's spirit—simple mechanics with big impact, no crazy automation.
- Builds on existing systems (villager professions, raids, iron golems, cartography).
Thanks for considering :)
