A frost aspect enchantment should added, but it should only be useable on tridents and crossbows to parallel the sword’s and bow’s fire aspect and flame enchantments.
It could make enemies take gradual damage and make them much slower, maybe after 2 consecutive hits the enemy becomes completely frozen for a few seconds.
Why would this be a good feature?
Crossbows aren’t used much compared to bows because bows are just that much better, the crossbow needs an enchantment that give its a raw damage buff and more to be comparable to the regular bow. There’s no variety in ranged combat because the bow is undeniably better.
The trident is an extreme grind to get so I think it even more so needs an enchantment with a raw damage buff. It suffers like the crossbow but not as much because it has niche uses that only it can do. Also, freezing damage + water kinda just makes sense.
They should be separate enchantments for each weapon, and both be found as loot with one level.
Frost Bite (Trident) would be found in sunken treasure 40% of the time. Meaning it’s not too rare, but you still need to go searching the oceans. It could also be in ships and water ruins very rarely, maybe 5%.
Frost Thaw (crossbow) could be found in pillager outpost chests, maybe 33%. It could also be found 100% of the time in mansions in those secret wall chests, and a 10% drop chance from ravagers. This is all due to the pillagers connection to and use of crossbows.
