No pause is not disability friendly

I have some disabilities that require me to take sudden breaks from games. I bought the switch version because I struggle to sit upright and I can play it in bed. I'm so frustrated that I can't pause when I need to take an emergency break. I have various disabilities and the lack of a pause function in single-player non-realms games makes this game impossible for me to enjoy. I can't think of a single reason why I shouldn't be able to pause. I hear people say 'because it's a survival game so it's tough love' but that attitude literally bars me from being able to play the game due to the nature of my disabilities. I used to love this game back when I was a healthy young girl, now I realise it's very ableist.
