I play on a realm with my friends with my base on a mountain, onlooking snowy terrain containing many frozen over bodies of water. I love the area but there is one thing, when night comes tons of Strays are spawning. Like I can't even leave my house without being swarmed by 5+ Strays (I'm not kidding). But there's a problem with lighting up the area to stop them, most of the Strays are spawning on the ice. If I would to put torches on the ice most of the ice will end up melting. I wanna keep the ice but I also want to leave my house without getting thwarted by 54 slowness arrows. I thought about using string or replacing the ice with packed ice but it would be too expensive. Maybe Stray spawns on ice can be disabled all together, I know that would be a easy solution but will get a rid of one of the unique behaviors of them. A better way is to disable torches melting ice, and leave that property to the lantern or soul torch. This way you can light up the builds made out of ice without having to worry about them melting. Idk I haven't heard anyone else talk about this and it would tremendously increase the quality of life of people who live in colder biomes.
