These new nether mobs could spawn mainly in perhaps a new nether fungal forest such as the Scorchshroom Forests (see Scorchshroom Forests post), along in the nether wastes biome. These salamanders will be fairly large in size that span to 3 blocks in length and almost 2 blocks high, they will also spawn in 3 different colours which are dark red, grey, and black, with a magma like orange colour in between their joints.
Whilst magma salamanders are neutral towards the player, they have a chance of attacking if they outnumber the player, the same behaviour applies towards piglins. They mainly attack by biting, but will have a small chance of breathing fire if they are out of biting range. Magma salamanders are fire resistant and also take a liking to magma blocks so they will spend most of their time bathing on top of magma blocks. What’s also unique about this behaviour is that they will begin to regenerate any lost health at a small rate whenever they are standing on top of magma blocks.
These mobs can also be bred, by either feeding them a new nether mushroom or with pork. Fire charges could also be used on magma salamanders to perhaps tame them, making these the first tameable nether mobs or give them some other use. Magma salamanders can also drop a new item called magma Scales by either killing them, or instead having them drop them naturally at random times. Im not exactly sure what these scales could do, so any ideas you could comment would be much appreciated.
